The Chester Public Library was operating on an obsolete, legacy HTML website that was visually dated, technically malfunctioning, and impossible for library staff to update without coding knowledge. Community resources, department updates, and event calendars were trapped behind a rigid, broken architecture. I spearheaded a complete digital rescue mission for the organization.

1. Website Redesign: Replaced the obsolete, malfunctioning static HTML website with a clean, dynamic, and reliable WordPress platform with custom HTML and domain options. Managed a phased deployment strategy, initially building and staging the prototype environment on WordPress.com before migrating it entirely to the final self-hosted WordPress.org. Provided technical support from 2011 to 2016.

2. Custom Template Creation: Designed and built easy-to-use custom page templates specifically tailored for the library’s independent departments.

3. Content Transfer: Audited, mapped, and transferred legacy library files, text assets, and resource directories from the old site structure into the new organized system.

4. One-on-one Staff Training: Conducted hands-on training sessions with non-technical library employees, guiding them through the backend dashboard so they could confidently update content and manage their own departments independently.
